Where to Live

Golders Green is the center of London's Israeli and Jewish community, with kosher restaurants, Israeli supermarkets, and a dense network of community services. Hendon and Finchley are popular family neighborhoods with good schools and a more suburban feel.

The Board of Deputies of British Jews, the UK Zionist Federation, the Israeli Embassy, and dozens of local community organizations serve the community. Regular Israeli cultural events, a Hebrew-language press, and multiple Israeli-run businesses make North London feel closely connected to Israel.

London has an extensive network of Jewish day schools, including Hasmonean, JFS (Jewish Free School), and North London Jewish Primary School. Eight or more schools provide Hebrew and Jewish education. Competition for places at top Jewish schools is high, so register years in advance.
